Penguins & Polar Bears Gorham, NH 03581 ~ ski camp will focus on games and fun, while teaching cross country ski basics for kids ages six to eleven years old.

Both Penguins (ages 6 to 8) and Polar Bears (ages 9 to 11) start off the camp with games that teach and test stopping abilities. Red Light, Green Light is a favorite that can be adapted to experienced skiers with the challenge of skiing backwards. Moose in the Trail gives further stopping practice while descending hills. Games of Predator and Prey played on one ski helps to equalize levels of skiing ability while providing the fun of a chase on skis. Capture the Flag, Ultimate Frisbee, and Flag Tag are other game possibilities.

The trails at Great Glen that wind through the meadows and forest will be explored. Ascending to the Great Angel Cabin, a log warming hut, is a significant ski goal for campers and is rewarded by a fast and turn-filled trip down the Dragon Corridor trail. Campers will also search for the locations of Trail Tracker critters. Of course, the camp wouldn’t be complete without a few runs on the classic tubing hill. 603-466-3988 Click for more info: www.greatglentrails.com/ppb

The Odd Couple at M&D at the Historic Eastern Slope Inn Playhouse
Felix Ungar, a neurotic, neat freak news writer, is thrown out by his wife, and moves in with his friend Oscar Madison, a slovenly sportswriter. Despite Oscar’s problems – careless spending, excessive gambling, a poorly kept house filled with spoiled food – he seems to enjoy life. Felix, however, seems utterly incapable of enjoying anything and only finds purpose in pointing out his own and other people’s mistakes and foibles. Even when he tries to do so in a gentle and constructive way, his corrections and suggestions prove extremely annoying to those around him. Oscar, his closest friend, feels compelled to throw him out after only a brief time together, though he quickly realizes that Felix has had a positive effect on him. Performances are at 7:30pm Thursday through Saturday and Sundays at 3:30pm.  Tickets are $25.     603-733-5275
